CEP is going away, and UXP will be available across Creative Cloud flagship apps.
If you maintain CEP plugins for Photoshop, Premiere, InDesign, or other Creative Cloud apps, it is time to start planning your move to UXP.
We just laid out the full timeline. Every flagship app gets a guaranteed two year runway from its own UXP beta. Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and now Media Encoder, which is also in beta, already support UXP for plugins. After Effects and Illustrator will follow.
CEP itself stops shipping in any of these apps after December 2029, and existing plugins already in the Marketplace will keep working until then.
The post breaks down exactly which dates apply to each app, what “CEP disabled by default” actually means for your users along the way, and the tooling, docs, and support we are standing up to help with the migration.
If you have anything running on CEP, it is worth five minutes.
