# How to Insert an SVG File into the Current Document?

I have already downloaded the SVG file to the temporary directory of the plugin. However, when I use action.batchPlay to insert it into the layer, Photoshop prompts: “Could not place’svg\_name.svg’ because the parser or the file format cannot be opened.”

You can use affinity designer and save it as PSD then open in PS. Adobe wasn’t good at this last time I checked. Or maybe place as smart object would work if you don’t need to edit it.
