# shell.openExternal(url) with error messages

Hello all!

Does anyone work with **shell.openExternal(url)**? What does the confirmation dialog that appears after calling the method look like for you?

The buttons are not styled. The website opens in the browser after clicking away the dialog and this error messages are shown.

But the bigger problem: When I want to interacting with the UXP DOM elements this error message appears: »WrongDocumentError: Failed to execute ‘appendChild’ on ‘Node’: The child node of type ‘SP-ICON-FLASHLIGHT-OFF’ is not from the same document as the parent node of type ‘DIV’.«

Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I would like to find out whether the problem is just affecting me or whether there is a general bug.

We are aware of this issue, which shall be addressed in the next UXP release in February, which should optimistically be available in Photoshop 26.5.
