Hi, I’m still wanting to know if there is any update on this? Any help would be appreciated, thank you for your time @bbb_999
No updates available.
We will certainly make it known, once more example code is available. Once a .mogrt is imported, its editable params are available like this, from the premiere-api sample.
Thank you for getting back. I’ve been trying a lot since and even following your linked example code, I cannot get anything out of MOGRT text fields through UXP (I could with ExtendScript quite easily).
All values returned are either null or get a message saying that value type is unsupported.
Hopefully this is something that could be implemented as I am concerned that CEP support will end before I can get my plug-ins functioning in UXP.
@bbb_999 I think it’s also super important to distinguish that UXP needs mogrt support that can access/change BOTH the “Text” and “Graphic Parameters” components. I’ve found it completely impossible to even read the Graphic Parameters component, which can also contain important editable text. Would love to see this enabled, as a ton of CEP tools for premiere use it.
Exactly the issue I’m having. I can’t port my CEP tools to UXP until I can read and edit all the graphic parameters.
Yes, this is a known issue. Like @Billy_Ward, I also cannot port my existing app to UXP even though I want to because the main functionality relies on such an API to both read and write Mogrt parameter values.
Understood; We consider those both, .mogrt components. ![]()
Hopefully access to read and alter text fields on ae created mogrts will come. I’d love to use UXP and make my tools better but I just wont be able to until that functionality is there.
I wanted to try again to see if I can get anything in the current Premiere beta. This is a MOGRT authored in After Effects.
The select brand pram is a dropdown menu, i’m able to control and set that with no issue.
Anything that has text a it’s value though? Nothing.
I even very lazily threw everything in the sample panels at it and I couldn’t get it there. Can’t set the value either.
Is there a deadline as to when we need to move from CEP to UXP?
As mentioned in numerous threads here on the forum, we are aware of the .mogrt component shortcoming, and are working on it. No additional threads on the topic needed; we hear you, and rest assured, we will sing it from the rooftops, once .mogrt components become available via UXP.
Is there a deadline as to when we need to move from CEP to UXP?
No. The retirement of CEP from Premiere has not been planned or scheduled.
However…
The Premiere team, as well as Adobe Extensibility, have been strongly urging all partners to port to UXP as soon as possible, for months.
NOW is the right time to move to UXP; you’ll have everything else ready to go, once we get .mogrt component streams to work. ![]()
I apologize for pestering; I and everyone else truly do appreciate the work you and your team are doing! Thank you for the concrete info.
Thanks @bbb_999 eagerly following PPro UXP MOGRT component developments, appreciate the time you take to keep us informed.
Apology cheerfully declined! ![]()
We know you’re reliant on us to provide a path to parity.
hey @bbb_999, is there any update on this? I just built an entire extension in UXP just to realize that I don’t have this critical feature, and I don’t have a CEP version to fallback on.
Even if the feature isn’t directly implemented, is there any plans to provide a bridge in UXP to calling legacy ExtendScript functions (like Photoshop)?
Would love to have access to reading and writing text in the sourceText for MOGRTs made in After Effects. I’m making a new plugin, and it feels just wrong to build a CEP at this time, instead of UXP.
We need this yesterday!
Please Bruce, make it happen! ![]()
I’m building a plugin and would love to programmatically replace media in MOGRTs. I can’t even do that in the old CEP format otherwise I’d just build it with CEP.
Will MOGRT media replacement be part of the promised next UXP update, or will that be phase 2 after basic text boxes etc work?
My project is due in the summer, I’ve built everything else, I just need to tell my client if it’s likely to work when they need it, or if I need to start from scratch with some other solution.
Many thanks!
Agreed! It’s something I’ve been waiting for for a while (as you can see if you go back to the top of the thread). I trust that the team is working hard on getting it done!
There is no update, and we have no plans to create any bridges to ExtendScript.
Better news: While we can (as always) provide no dates, the work to expose MOGRT parameters is underway; we’ll announce it here in the forums, once functionality is in Premiere beta builds.
