I’m pretty sure that a while ago, you would never get a documentStateChanged notification in your panel while text was being edited. You’d only get one after editing was finished.
I just noticed in XD 30 that you get these notifications now after the user pauses typing, while editing, but while editing is still ongoing.
If this behavior changed, it’s big news, but don’t recall any notice of it, and I try to watch the API changes like a hawk.
