I am working on a plug-in for Premiere that will take a list of cuts to a clip from a text file, i.e.
Cut from start-0:07
Cut from 0:30-1:46
Cut from 2:26-6:39
Cut from 7:27-8:19
Cut from 9:43-13:11
Cut from 14:23-15:09
Cut from 15:33-16:07
Cut from 17:05-18:08
Cut from 19:00-end
and parse that list and apply it to a single clip on the timeline, replacing it with just the remaining chunks from the clip. I’ve also tried doing it the opposite way- using all of the in/out times of the remaining clips, and adding them sequentially to an empty timeline.
Not sure if it’s limitations on the current state of the UXP API or if the code just isn’t right yet - despite a ton of debug statements (and throwing Claude Sonnet 4 at the problem) I am still running into a dead end.
(Hmm, I can’t upload here yet because I am a new user. Do I need to have some minimum number of posts, or do I just have to wait? Should I throw it in GitHub and post a link to it instead? Yep, I’ll do that.)
Hopefully I can figure out the best way to make it available and then someone can tell me what I’m doing wrong. Thank you!
