Call a script with action.play()

action.play() (and also the equivalent batchplay) fails if the action contains a script call (File > Scripts > Browse). As far as I remember it worked fine in CEP panels.

Is this “as designed” because Extendscript is no longer supported?

I have reports of this also. One solution that works is to call the action with the script from another action. In other words, the action you play via UXP is an action that plays the action with the script.
