Hello everyone,
a basic question: In older applications, is UXP not updated to the current version? I.e. fixed bugs in UXP are not fixed there either. Does anyone know this?
Both versions of lnDesign are up to date.
Thanks a lot!

AFAIK UXP is a fundamental “part” of InDesign, like with CEP and is not updated separately. I suppose critical bugs are fixed (hence why 7.4.2 rather than 7.4.0 of 7.4.1 in InDesign 19.5.2) but new features would be linked exclusively to the newest InDesign version.
Thank you for your answer. I’m currently struggling against a bug with sp-textfields. Same code, works in InDesign 2025 but not in 2024. The Spectrum web components in particular should actually be independent. So I suspect it has something to do with the UXP version.
While the SWC’s are separate indeed, they do under the hood rely on the capabilities of the UXP html/css translation/rendering engine which is updated and enhanced constantly. Compare it to websites which might render correctly on a newer but not older version of your browser… same applies here, only InDesign is the “browser”
