New "Panels" item in UXP preferences menu. WHY?

In the new version of Photoshop Beta (v28.0.0), the preferences menu for UXP plugins now has a “Panels” item by default as shown in the image below.

Is there a reason for this? It’s not something I need in my preferences menu and not something that my code adds (that I’m aware of). Plus, it will require extensive revision of Preference menu screenshots in my user manuals. Is there, at least, a way to turn it off?

Did you see in the manifest if you can remove it?

In my opinion it will only be visible in the beta version, and if I’m not mistaken, it is used for dual and triple panel plugins.

I figured out it is for choosing a panel when you have multiple panels docked together, which could lead to some tab names being truncated. This “Panels” option allows bringing the desired panel forward even if you cannot read the names well.

Not sure why that would be needed if there is only one plugin, though, like in the original image, unless it had an extremely long tab name.

I’ve noticed this as well. This item in the flyout menu only really makes sense when several panels are docked together in one group AND the names are truncated. For a single standalone panel and when panels names are not truncated, it just adds clutter.
