Access Restricted on Adobe Exchange

Trying to search for plugins on Adobe Exchange displays “Access Restricted”, showing nothing.

I am a licensed individual user with multiple plugins listed in the marketplace. Is Adobe Exchange currently functioning properly? How can it be accessed?

Environment

  • macOS (Apple Silicon)
  • Creative Cloud Pro (Individual, not for education)

Looks like EDU type licenses are now restricted. No idea what’s the thinking behind that.

@vamitul Thank you for the information. Is that the result of your experiment, or was it written somewhere?

it was discussed on the developer’s Slack.

Thanks @vamitul. When I encountered a similar issue related to Edu, an Adobe employee told the following:

By terminating the Creative Cloud subscription and applying a new license, it’s possible to sever the past Edu account association.

And I did that. So now I should definitely have a normal personal license, not an Edu one. Therefore, this issue likely doesn’t apply to this account.

I would appreciate it if someone directly familiar with the details could provide an update.

The holiday season is almost upon us. It’s time to push ahead.

Rumors are circulating that my plugin can no longer be installed, and it seems opportunities are being lost. To help address this, would you please report what’s currently known about the issue where Adobe Exchange is Access Restricted?

Are these the people in charge? @rauchwer @agandhi @vimalvarshney @Erin_Finnegan

Recently the Exchange was disabled for education accounts for compliance reasons, however, this should have been only for K-12 accounts, not higher education. The engineering team is currently working to solve the issue.

I also plan on working with either the helpx team or the documentation team to write a page about this.

Thank you for the information, @Erin_Finnegan.

My account is not an educational one at all, so it seems that alone doesn’t explain the entire scope of the issue. Perhaps a problem has arisen that is affecting normal accounts as well?

I think it’s possible that many people have an “EDU” flag without knowing it…

In any case, work is continuing to attempt to resolve the matter before the holidays.

Appreciate your actions.

As you recall, the “EDU” flag often seems to be the cause of problems or a common pathway. Aside from patching the issues that have arisen, it would be helpful if you could address the root cause.

Thank you for your continued efforts.

The issue turned out to be much more complicated than I alluded to here…

In any case, the change was rolled back so it should be back to normal now. Are you able to test this?

If you or your customers are still having this issue, please post in this thread in the user forums: Access Restricted - Plugins are unavailable for yo... - Adobe Product Community - 15637733

Yes, the test results displayed correctly. Thank you for preparing the forum article as well.
