Hi!
We’ve found that installing a .ccx
package using the UnifiedPluginInstallerAgent --install
command line invocation more often than not results in the package being installed multiple times concurrently.
The result is that we cannot gaurantee which version the artist will get.
Unfortunately, while the --remove
command can be used multiple times to remove all previous installations, we’d prefer not to rely on removal. Ideally the --install
plugin upgrade process would effectively replace the current installation.
Here’s a fresh open of Photoshop showcasing the version discrepancy. Note the two installs in the command line, the single listed in the Creative Cloud plugin management pane, and the version the plugin has baked in:
Thank you in advance for your time and attention!
In order to investigate this, the engineering team is going to want to know the following things:
- The exact version of UPIA you’re using (there’s a -version flag you can call)
- The version of Photoshop (or other apps affected)
- The OS version(s) you can reproduce this on, and if it’s ARM or Silicon architecture
- Installation logs, here’s how to collect them: https://helpx.adobe.com/in/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-common-addon-installation-issues.html#still-facing-issues.
- Use a file sharing service of your choice (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and share the following:
- If the plugin is from Adobe’s marketplace, provide a link to the listing. If it’s not from Adobe’s marketplace, engineering will need a copy of the plugin installer (the CCX).
- The log file(s) you collected. The log collector outputs a ZXP. (I don’t have access to the log file upload portal.)
- It’s very helpful to include the file name of the ZXP in the body of your email.
Email and share the above to ccintrev@adobe.com and CC vvarshne @ adobe . com
Note that ZIP and ZXP files tend to get lost in the spam filter. If you’ve sent everything and it’s been a few days with no response, email again with no attachments.
