I got a message from a customer that stated:
The message I got from Adobe was :
“Are you using a new Windows Arm based device? If so, extensions and plug-ins are not yet supported.”
Can anyone from Adobe comment on this development and a timetable for it to be remedied? Windows ARM-based computers are becoming more common. It would be nice to give customers an estimate of when they will be able to use their UXP plugins in Photoshop if they have one of these new computers.
Is this related to Hybrid plugins because UXP doesn’t support ARM hybrid plugins? There should be no issues running regular UXP plugins on ARM devices. Also I am very curious as to where your customer obtained that comment from within Adobe.
This is NOT in regard to a hybrid plugin. This is regarding installation of a regular UXP plugin. I’ll ask the customer how they contacted Adobe to receive this information. I’ll also relay that it is possible to install regular plugins on Windows ARM computers and will work with them to find a solution.
With regard to UXP plugin support on Windows ARM based computers, the customer sent the following picture that shows a website with a blue banner stating that plugins are not yet supported on Windows ARM based devices.

Ah, I see. There’s no limitation from a UXP runtime perspective per se in supporting plugins on Win ARM (the fact that HomeScreen exists on PS Win ARM) but the entire workflow has some restrictions that need a revisit. CCD is one (as your customer shared) and UDT is another. Also, host applications like PS have disabled the Plugins menu due to the unavailability of 3P plugins on CCD Win ARM. @pkrishna This needs a revisit and working with other teams to unlock the usual plugin workflow as Windows ARM isn’t a platform that can be ignored anymore.

If possible, please let us know when Windows ARM can successfully support third-party UXP plugins. It’s difficult to explain to customers that their new computer is less performant with regard to Adobe apps than their old one.
